Johannes Gutenberg-University Mainz is located close to Mainz main station and can be readily reached on foot or by bike, by on of the many public bus and tram lines.
The following lines serve the university from the main station:
- 9 (towards Arena)
- 51 (towards Lerchenberg)
- 53 (towards Lerchenberg)
- 54 (towards Klein-Winternheim)
- 55 (towards Nieder-Olm)
- 56 (towards Wackernheim)
- 57 (towards Bretzenheim)
- 58 (towards Finthen)
- 59 (towards Hochschule Mainz)
- 68 (towards Budenheim)
- 79 (towards Ingelheim)
- 90 (towards Finthen)
- 91 (towards Wackernheim)
- 93 (towards Lerchenberg)
- 630 (towards Sprendlingen/Bad Kreuznach)
We recommend using the tram lines 51, 53 and 59, all of which stop directly at the main entrance to the campus.
